A: “Outward: Definitive Edition” is currently available on these platforms:
The release is digital only in most parts of the world. There is currently a physical edition planned for Japan.
B: In the PlayStation store, the Definitive Edition is shown as available for PS4 AND PS5. This is due to a technicality to make the upgrade path work on both systems. However, “Outward: Definitive Edition” is NOT available for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One or Google Stadia, and no release on those platforms is planned.
You are eligible for a free upgrade if ONE of the following conditions is met:
A: Good news: Purchasing the Definitive Edition will entitle you to a digital copy of “Outward: Adventurer Bundle” on PC or your Gen 8 console. This does not apply cross-platform (e.g. PS5 to Xbox One or vice versa)
B: In addition, the “Outward: Adventurer Bundle” and the DLCs remain available for purchase for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
There is currently no time limit on the free upgrade offer, so you can buy the “The Three Brothers” DLC at any time to get the Definitive Edition.
We released the Definitive Edition by updating the “Outward” store page on most platforms, so your library will also reflect this change.
Saves from the “Outward” standard edition do not carry over to the Definitive Edition, so you will have to start a whole new adventure there. But don’t worry, your saves aren’t gone or deleted. Simply start up the Outward standard edition, and you can continue where you left off.

The latter is the more direct route.
Neither the standard nor the Definitive Edition of Outward support cloud saving, and there are currently no plans to implement it in the future.
