You are eligible for a free upgrade if ONE of the following conditions is met:
- Own a digital copy of the “Outward” standard edition AND a copy of the “The Three Brothers” DLC
- Own the “Outward: Adventure Bundle”
- Own a disk copy of “Outward” standard edition AND a digital copy of the “The Three Brothers” DLC
Digital Copy
Steam:
- If you have “Outward” installed on Steam, the game should automatically update to the Definitive Edition. Note: The Definitive Edition will not appear as a separate game!
Upon booting up the game from the library, it will give the choice between starting the Definitive Edition, or the standard Edition of “Outward”. - Sometimes, Steam might not automatically download the Definitive Edition. Try manually updating the game, closing, and opening Steam again, or right-click on the game in the library, go to properties, move to the DLC section, and make sure the “Outward: Definitive Edition DLC” is installed.
Epic Game Store:
If you have “Outward” installed on Epic, the game should automatically update to the Definitive Edition.
GOG:
If you have “Outward” installed via GOG, the game should automatically update to the Definitive Edition.
Xbox Series X|S:
- Open the Microsoft store on your Xbox Series X|S.
- Navigate to the “Outward: Definitive Edition” store page
- The store should give you the option to install the Definitive Edition for free.
PlayStation 5:
- Open the PlayStation Store on your PlayStation 5.
- Navigate to the “Outward: Definitive Edition” store page
- The store should give you the option to install the Definitive Edition for free.
Retail Copy
PlayStation 5:
1. Insert the “Outward” Disk into the PlayStation 5
2. Navigate to the “Outward: Definitive Edition” store page
3. On the game page, the store should give you the option to install the Definitive Edition for free.
Xbox Series X|S:
1. To access the free upgrade on Xbox Series X, please submit a ticket to our customer support from this page. In the message, please specify that you have the retail version of the game. Please also include proof of purchase for the “The Three Brothers” DLC.
2. As proof of purchase, we accept EITHER:
A: An email receipt of your purchase
B: A screenshot of your Xbox order history. To access this, please follow these steps:
- From a web browser, go to this link "Xbox Order History" (https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/subscriptions-billing/billing-payment-updates/check-xbox-purchase-history)
- Sign in to your Xbox account that you have purchased the item(s) on.
- Navigate to the line(s) that shows the item(s) you purchased.
- Click Details on that transaction
- Take a screenshot that shows the transaction line for this item.
